Abby Crawford Milton of Chattanooga — She spearheaded suffrage movement in Chattanooga. The wife of George Fort Milton, publisher of pro-suffrage Chattanooga News, she held a law degree and helped Lookout Mountain Suffrage League secure local enfranchisement for women in 1917. Recruited workers for suffrage from groups as diverse as the Tennessee Woman's Press Club, Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, Tennessee Federation of Women's Clubs, Tennessee Daughters of the American Revolution. First president of Tennessee League of Women Voters during ratification campaign, 1920.
